2022 U.S.

The U.S. International Figure Skating Classic kicks off the 2022 Challenger Series in Lake Placid Sep. 12-15. All four disciplines will be contested.

The men′s field is headlined by two American entries: Ilia Malinin, the World Junior champion, and Camden Pulkinen, fourth at 2022 senior Worlds, along with two very popular skaters, Kévin Aymoz of France and Mexico′s Donovan Carrillo, who are set to make their season debuts at this competition. Canada is also fielding two men — Wesley Chiu and Stephen Gogolev. Daniel Grassl of Italy, who switched coaches in the off-season and is now training in Boston, is also in the line up.

An international field of 16 skaters from 13 nations will take to the ice in the women′s event, led by South Korea′s Young You. She will be joined by teammate Yelim Kim. Canada has no entries in this event and Mana Kawabe is the only Japanese competitor in the line up.

Eight pairs teams from four nations are slated to compete. Canada’s Kelly Ann Laurin and Loucas Ethier will make their senior debut at this event. Also in the line up are Italy’s Rebecca Ghilardi and Filippo Ambrosini, the 2022 John Nicks Pairs Challenge champions, and the American team of Valentina Plazas and Maximiliano Fernandez, who finished third at that competition.

Great Britain′s Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson lead the way in the field of 12 ice dance teams. The Canadian duo of Marie-Jade Lauriault and Romain Le Gac (who formerly represented France) were impressive in their outing at the Québec Summer Championships in August and will be gunning for a podium finish in Lake Placid.

Unfortunately, there is no worldwide live stream for this competition. Fans who live in the U.S., United Kingdom, Austria, Germany, Italy and Switzerland will be able to watch it on Peacock Premium.
