2022 Grand Prix FinalThe 2022 Grand Prix Final (junior and senior) takes place in Torino, Italy, Dec. 8-11. 

Six nations will be represented at the senior level: Belgium, Canada, Great Britain, Italy, Japan and the U.S.

Japan qualified the most entries with seven singles skaters and one pairs team, followed by the U.S. with two singles skaters, two pairs and two ice dance teams. One singles skater, two pairs and one ice dance team will represent Italy, while Canada will field one pairs and two ice dance teams.

Mai Mihara of Japan, the only woman to win both her assignments, heads into Torino in first place overall with 30 points. Her teammate, Kaori Sakamoto, ranks third following her victory at Skate America and a second-place finish at NHK Trophy (28 points). Isabeau Levito of the U.S. earned the highest combined score of the season, but with two second-place finishes at her assignments (26 points) heads into the Final ranked fifth.

Ilia Malinin of the U.S. and Japan′s Shoma Uno both won their two designated events, but Malinin earned the highest score and claimed top spot overall on the leaderboard. In total, four Japanese men qualified for the Final.

In pairs, Japan′s Riku Miura and Ryuichi Kihara claimed the top spot by a 20.94-point margin over Alexa Knierim and Brandon Frazier of the U.S. who sit in second. They were the only two teams to mine gold at their respective assignments.

Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier of Canada and Italy′s Charlène Guignard and Marco Fabbri were the only teams to capture two ice dance titles each. Gilles and Poirier rank highest in the final standings by a margin of 13.50 points over the Italian team.

This competition overlaps with the final Challenger Series event, Golden Spin of Zagreb (link below).
