The ancient city of Angers hosts the Grand Prix de France, the third event of the 2022 Grand Prix Series, Nov. 4-6.
Japan′s Yuma Kagiyama, the 2022 Olympic silver medalist, headlines the men′s discipline. Kévin Aymoz and Adam Siao Him Fa of France and Ivan Shmuratko of Ukraine are also slated to compete.
Loena Hendrickx of Belgium leads the women′s field. She will go up against South Korea′s Yelim Kim, the victor at the 2022 U.S. International figure Skating Classic, Mana Kawabe of Japan, the bronze medalist in Lake Placid, and Haein Lee of South Korea.
Fans will be happy to see China′s Cheng Peng and Yang Jin, the top team in the pairs field, return to competition. Other podium contenders include the Italian duo of Rebecca Ghiliardi and Filippo Ambrosini, the gold medalists at the Challenger Series event in Lake Placid, and Georgia′s Karina Safina and Luka Berulava.
Italy′s Charlène Guignard and Marco Fabbri, the 2022 Lombardia Trophy champions headline the ice dance line up. Canada′s Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Nikolaj Sørensen will be that team′s main challengers at this competition.
No Challenger Series event is scheduled for this week.
