2019 Minsk Arena

2019 Minsk Arena Ice Star takes place in Minsk, Belarus, Oct. 18-20. Three disciplines — men′s, ladies and ice dance — will be contested.

Sergei Voronov, 32, is the veteran of the men′s field, currently sitting at 15. He will face off against a predominantly young generation most of whom are more than a decade younger. Some of the young talents, fresh off the Junior Grand Prix circuit, include Italy′s Daniel Grassl, Luc Maierhofer of Austria and Adam Siao Him Fa of France.

Reigning European champion Sofia Samodurova is the highest ranked lady in a field of 31. She will open her season against Laurine Lecavelier of France and South Korea’s Hanul Kim. As with the men, a number of junior ladies are slated to compete, many of whom will make their senior debuts at this competition. 

The ice dance competition will be one to watch with Spain′s Sara Hurtado and Kirill Khaliavin looking to improve on their second place finish at 2019 Ondrej Nepela Memorial, Ukraine′s Alexandra Nazarov and Maxim Nikitin, third at Lombardia Trophy, and Natalia Kaliszek and Maksym Spodyriev of Poland, who finished third at 2019 Shanghai Trophy, chasing the three steps of the podium.
