U.S. Figure Skating has published the names of skaters that are eligible for assignments at the junior and senior levels for the 2021-2022 season. Selection for assignments to the Team Envelope is based on established criteria and results from the previous season. The Team Envelope is used to determine funding amounts and other privileges. Skaters assigned to the respective Team Envelopes will be announced later this year.
The International Selection Pool (ISP) includes both junior and senior-level skaters/teams that meet the criteria set out by the U.S. Figure Skating International Committee and are eligible for assignments to international competitions.
Missing from the men′s line up is Alexei Krasnozhon, who announced his retirement in May. He is headed to university in Texas. Andrew Torgashev did not compete at the 2021 U.S. Championships and will likely have to compete at summer and/or pre-season events to be eligible for addition to the ISP. No announcement has been made about the absence of pairs skaters Jessica Calalang and Brian Johnson from both the Team Envelopes and ISP.
