Following the conclusion of the 2019 national championships in December 2018, Russia named the teams that will compete at the 2019 European Championships in Minsk, Belarus, Jan. 21-27, and the Winter Universiade in Krasnoyarsk, Russia, March 2-12.

Alina Zagitova will without doubt be the headliner in Minsk. The reigning World Junior and Junior Grand Prix champion should have no rivals with her training mate Evgenia Medvedeva sidelined with an injury. Despite not winning nationals, Mikhail Kolyada remains the top Russian man heading into Europeans.

The skaters that will compete at the World Championships will not be officially named until after the European Championships have concluded. However, a Russian news outlet reported that Alexei Mishin said he has been ″instructed to prepare Elizaveta Tuktamysheva for this competition.″
