Skate America

The first of the six Grand Prix Series events this season — 2018 Skate America — takes place at the Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett, Washington, Oct. 19-21.

A number of U.S. veterans have opted not to compete this season. Adam Rippon, Ashley Wagner, Maia Shibutani and Alex Shibutani and Mirai Nagasu are all out.

Japan′s Satoko Miyahara and Nathan Chen of the U.S., who claimed the singles titles last season, will be looking to make it two in a row at this event.

Reigning World pairs silver medalists Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov of Russia are the strongest contenders for gold. The other two spots on this podium are up for grabs.

In ice dance, Madison Hubbell and Zachary Donohue should be shoo-ins to capture the title. Teams from Russia, Italy and the U.S. will be challenging for silver and bronze.

This competition will mark the senior Grand Prix debuts for a number of international skaters, such as Italy′s Matteo Rizzo, Julian Zhi Jie Zee from Malaysia (the first skater from that nation to compete at a senior Grand Prix event), Japan′s Marin Honda, Russia′s Sofia Samodurova and Starr Andrews of the U.S.

There is no free live stream in the U.S. for 2018 Skate America.
