The German Skating Federation announced today that Nolan Seegert was released from the quarantine hotel at noon on Feb. 11 and moved back into the Olympic Village. After the test results raised a CT value of over 35 for three consecutive days Seegert is now treated as a ″Close Contact.″ He has resumed training for the competition with his partner Minerva Fabienne Hase, but remains separated from other members of the team.
While the rest of the Russian men’s contingent and their respective entourages departed China for Moscow on Saturday, Mark Kondratiuk received a phone call shortly before leaving telling him he was not going with the group and would remain in China.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport hearing with respect to the Valieva doping issue will take place by video conference on Sun., Feb. 13 at 8:30pm (Beijing time). A decision is expected to be rendered in the afternoon of Mon., Feb. 14. ″We want this to be expedited as quickly as possible and you will have a resolution on Monday,″ said International Olympic Committee spokesman Mark Adams.

News sources are now reporting the delay with the Team Event medal ceremony is due to a positive drug test of one of the figure skaters on the ROC team. This has not been confirmed by the ISU or the IOC. The ISU vice president, Alexander Lakernik, confirmed that nothing is official at this point.
February 8
The medal ceremony for the Team Event, which will take place at the Medal Plaza, has been delayed twice with no explanation. Photographers, who were not provided notice of the change, attended at the Plaza on Tuesday night and were advised it had been postponed once again.

The draw for the individual men’s short program has taken place. Roman Sadovsky is first out of the gate. Yuzuru Hanyu and Shoma Uno skate 21 and 22 in the second-to-last flight. Yuma Kagiyama, Keegan Messing, Nathan Chen and Jason Brown are in the final flight.
A collision occurred during a pairs practice session this morning between the Canadian team of Vanessa James and Eric Radford and Italy′s Nicole Della Monica and Matteo Guarise. All involved said they are fine and intend to compete. James and Radford will skate the free in the Team Event.
Yuzuru Hanyu arrived in Beijing on Sunday, Feb. 6. His quest for a third Olympic title gets underway Tuesday (Beijing time) with the men′s short program.
German pairs skater Nolan Seegert is still locked in a quarantine hotel in Beijing. He was recently moved to a larger room and the German hockey team had exercise equipment delivered to him so he could start working out as nothing was provided to him by Chinese officials.
Russian ice dancers Alexandra Stepanova and Ivan Bukin were scheduled to leave Moscow for Beijing on Feb. 6, but the Russian federation confirmed the team did not catch the scheduled flight. Mon., Feb. 7 is the last direct flight to Beijing.

CBC is reporting it has been advised by the Canadian Olympic Committee that Keegan Messing is currently flying to Montréal where he will have a final PCR test before heading to Beijing. He is expected to arrive on Feb. 7, the day before the men′s short program takes place.
February 4

Nikita Katsalapov confirmed that Kamila Valieva (ROC) will compete the short program in the Team Event.
CBC is reporting that Keegan Messing has two negative tests, is completing the necessary paperwork and the COC hope to have him on a plane to China as soon as possible.

NBC reported that Karen Chen is expected to be the person competing the short program in the Team Event for the USA.
Nikita Katsalapov has been named as the captain of the ROC team.

Stéphane Lambiel is currently isolating in Switzerland after receiving a positive test on Jan. 29.
Russian ice dancers Alexandra Stepanova and Ivan Bukin did not fly to Beijing on Wednesday on the Olympic charter from Moscow, the last available direct flight. They will miss the team tournament and will now leave on one of the scheduled flights on either Feb. 6 and 7. Source: Match TV

The deadline for each nation to submit the names of the competitors in the men and pairs short programs and the rhythm dance in the Team Event has been extended until 9 p.m. (local time) on Feb. 3, and 9 p.m. on Feb. 5 for the women′s short to allow time for PCR tests to be conducted and the athletes to be cleared.
