Alexandra Trusova, 13, wowed the audience in Brisbane, Australia, where she made her Junior Grand Prix debut. The Russian teenager set global tongues wagging with her short program performance, but it was her free skate that really set her apart from the rest of the juniors competing on the circuit this season.
Trusova opened her program with an attempted quad Salchow, but was unable to hold on to the landing and crashed to the ice. However, there are no other ladies, junior or senior, attempting four rotations at this time, so she is in a league of her own when it comes to quads at this time.
Trusova was a sure bet to win at her second assignment in Minsk, Belarus, following her runaway victory in Australia. The Moscow teenager ran away with the title once again, winning the competition by 13.32 points over Japan′s Nana Akari.
With two solid victories Alexandra Trusova sits at the top of the leaderboard following the conclusion of the seven events and is headed to the Grand Prix Final in Nagoya, Japan, in December.

2017 Grand Prix Final
The ISU Junior Series was established in the 1997-1998 season. Six qualifying competitions took place from late August to early November 1997, leading to the final, which was held in early March 1998. The following season, the series was expanded to eight qualifying events and renamed the ISU Junior Grand Prix.
The series was composed of seven qualifying competitions in the 2002-2002 season after U.S. Figure Skating cancelled its event in Arizona following the September 11, 2001 attacks. The Series returned to eight events the following year. The International Skating Union permanently reduced the number of qualifying competitions to seven beginning in the 2009-2010 season.
