2022 Ondrej Nepela Memorial

NepelaThe 2022 Ondrej Nepela Memorial takes place in Bratislava, Slovakia, Sep. 29-Oct. 1. Three disciplines will be contested. This is a non-pairs event.

Latvian native Deniss Vasiljevs will open his season at this competition along with Jun-Hwan Cha who will lead a trio of South Korean men. Canada′s Corey Circelli will be aiming for a solid start to his first full season in the senior ranks following a seventh-place finish at the Cranberry International in August. The U.S. is not sending any men to this competition. 

Haein Lee of South Korea, who finished seventh at the 20220 World Championships, is the highest ranked woman in the field. The 2022 Word Junior champion Isabeau Levito is the only American entry in the field of 17. Maé-Bérénice Méité of France is scheduled to make her return to a major International competition for the first time since tearing her Achilles Tendon at the 2021 World Championships. She finished fifth at the 2022 Egna Spring Trophy, the only event she has contested all year. 

The ice dance competition boasts a strong line up. This will be the third Challenger Series event for Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson of Great Britain, who will be looking to make it three in a row after claiming the U.S. Figure Skating Classic and Nebelhorn Trophy titles earlier this month. Canada′s Marjorie Lajoie and Zachary Lagha, Juulia Turkkila and Matthias Versluis of Finland, and Oona Brown and Gage Brown, the reigning World Junior champions, round out the field. 

This competition overlaps with the Junior Grand Prix event in Gdańsk, Poland.
