2022 Grand Prix Espoo

The final event of the 2022 Grand Prix Series takes place in Espoo, Finland, Nov. 25-27.

With just a few berths available at the 2022 Grand Prix Final, the competition between those in contention will be fierce.

Ilia Malinin of the U.S.,, who won the first event of the Series on home soil, will be in the hunt for his second Grand Prix title of the season and punch a ticket to Torino. Other men in contention for a podium finish include Japan′s Shun Sato, the bronze medalist in Sheffield, Kévin Aymoz of France, the victor at Warsaw Cup last weekend, and Canada′s Keegan Messing.

Belgium′s Loena Hendrickx will also be chasing the top step of the podium in the women′s competition and earn a place at what would be her first Grand Prix Final. She will have to fend off a strong challenge from Japan′s Mai Mihara, who will be looking to add another gold medal to her collection following her win in Sheffield.

Germany′s Alisa Efimova and Ruben Blommaert are the top names in the pairs field. The duo was forced to withdraw from their first event in Canada due to injury, and are not eligible to earn a place at the Final.

In ice dance, Canada′s Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier lead the way. Their main challenge for gold will come from the American team of Kaitlin Hawayek and Jean-Luc Baker, the runners-up at Skate America. Who will claim the bronze is anyone′s guess.

There is no live coverage on the main NBC network in the United States. A recap of the highlights will air on Nov. 27 from 4-6 p.m. Check your local listings for air dates and times on the speciality channels.

NRW Trophy in Dortmund, Germany, overlaps with this competition. See the Competition Calendar link below. No Challenger Series event is scheduled for this week.
