2022 Finlandia Trophy

The 2022 Finlandia Trophy takes place in Espoo, Oct. 5-9. All four disciplines will be contested.

Always one of the most popular competitions in the Challenger Series, there are currently 22 men, 29 women, 12 pairs and 12 ice dance teams slated to compete. No Japanese skaters are listed in the line ups at this time.

South Korea′s Jun-Hwan Cha headlines a men′s field that includes Mikhail Shaidorov of Kazakhstan, the reigning World Junior silver medalist, Georgia′s Morisi Kvitelashvili, Conrad Orzel of Canada and Dinh Tran from the U.S.

Top names in the women′s event include Haein Lee and Yelim Kim of South Korea, Anastasiia Gubanova of Georgia and Lindsay Thorngren of the U.S., the reigning World Junior bronze medalist.

Who claims top spot in the pairs event is wide open with a mix of experienced teams going up against some of the new kids on the block.

That will not be the case in the ice dance competition with Canada′s Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Nikolaj Sørensen who will likely be locked in a battle with two U.S. teams — Caroline Green and Michael Parsons and Kaitlin Hawayek and Jon-Luc Baker — and the Finnish duo of Juulia Turkkila and Matthias Versluis.

This competition takes place in the same time frame as the Junior Grand Prix in Gdańsk, Poland.
