2017 JGP Poland takes https://ifsmagazine.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=7320&action=edit#place in the beautiful city of Gdansk, and is the penultimate competition of the 2017 Junior Grand Prix Series. The competition begins Oct. 5 with the ladies, pairs and men’s short programs. With a number of the berths in Nagoya already spoken for, this will be a do-or-die competition for those for whom this is their second assignment to have a chance to claim one of the remaining spots at the Junior Final.
There are currently 28 men, 37 ladies, 18 pairs and 19 ice dance teams slated to compete.
In the men′s event, Russia’s Alexey Erokov will be looking for a top-three finish and a trip to the Junior Grand Prix Final in December following his victory at his first event in Minsk. The American Camden Pulkinen will also be in the hunt for a step on the podium to earn a trip to Nagoya, as will Canada’s Conrad Orzel.
The ladies line-up is headlined by Alena Kostornaia of Russia. She will be joined by teammate Daria Panenkova. Japan’s Rink Kasakake and Eunsoo Lim of South Korea will present strong challenges for the young Russians.
Australia′s Ekaterina Alexandrovskaya and Harley Windsor will be the ones to beat in the pairs event. Their main challengers will be Daria Pavliucheno and Denis Khodykin and Anastasia Poliuanova and Dmitry Sopot of Russia.
There will be no Russian sweep in ice dance at this event with just two teams competing. Caroline Green and Gordon Green of the U,S, have a good shot at medalling and will also be in the hunt for berth at the Final.
